House in Grigiškės

This project marks my very first architectural undertaking during my studies. The assignment entailed designing a single-family house. The site allocated to me presented a distinct characteristic—a steep hill located to the south. Additionally, the challenge was to ensure that the building conforms to the unusual triangular shape of the plot.
The plot is encompassed by neighboring properties on the eastern and northern sides. Considering these conditions, I devised a concept featuring two stacked volumes that follow the shape of the plot. These volumes are oriented towards the southern hill, while being shielded from the street and surrounding buildings.
The building itself exudes a minimalist and sculptural aesthetic. The upper volume is supported by a mirror-covered "leg" that blends harmoniously with the surroundings, creating an illusion of the building "floating."
